SpyShelter Anti-Screenshot Feature Questions

When the screenshot protection feature is enabled, is there a way to check logs to see which app attempted to capture the screen? Also, does the screenshot protection feature work against game anti cheat systems? Or is there a way to allow only the anti-cheat while blocking others?

Thanks for asking about our anti-screenshot feature!

There is no way for us to tell when an app tries to capture a screenshot at this time. We’d also like to know this for ourselves, but we are not aware of a way to do this currently with the latest Windows versions.

For the anti-cheat question, I am not sure. It would probably depend on the system used. I haven’t ever seen anyone report this issue to our helpdesk or to the forum yet. I handle our helpdesk questions myself so I see them all.

You know what I don’t get? Aren’t just about all functions in Windows based on so called API’s? So you would think you could hook these API’s that are related to for example keylogging and screen capturing. I don’t see how Win 11 has changed so much, that it’s not possible anymore to hook certain API’s. Can you perhaps ask the developer to clarify this?

I can say we investigated carefully and if it’s just hooking in an API we’d definitely do so, because not doing this just hurts us. I don’t know if we’ll share technical details but I can ask if anything has changed lately. Looks like one of those links is from 2019?

Yes, please ask the developer to look at it one more time. Because that’s my understanding of how behavior blockers work, they simply hook into API’s via their driver. And those links may be old, but I couldn’t find any newer information, so assume it still applies to Windows 11.

The developer confirmed what was said previously. We cannot do as you suggest currently, but we will continue to investigate.
