New version update

It’s been awhile since I saw an update here,

SpyShelter Change List – SpyShelter Help

When will be the next version update? Just asking.

Thanks for checking in!
We’ve found that most people still associate SpyShelter with antikeylogging, which we found we can’t do reliably with modern Windows versions, so we are working on changing our business strategy considering this antikeylogging association…

Okay. Will be waiting on news for SpyShelter. All systems go here. No issues.

Could you share what you like the best about SpyShelter?

Of course they associate SpyShelter with antikeylogging, it was the core of the application when founded.

I’m am coming up to my third renewal and are very interested what “so we are working on changing our business strategy” means and what other new stuff to the core protection you might be considering adding?

Btw. The GUI is definitely an improvement compared to the old 12 version.

Yes, maybe it was a mistake to continue the SpyShelter name when we couldn’t offer antikeylogging anymore in a reliable way. Thanks for supporting our work on this project! We will share more details when it’s time, thanks!

SS keeps the user informed realtime of all processes as well as ample support protection in tandem with the main AV. What users are missing is the keylogger feature. User have always expected that SS is with antikeylogger.

Yes, I think if we could just add some kind of reliable keylogger it would really help us… maybe something with Windows will change and it’ll become possible again. I want the same thing.

The belabored anti-keylogger discussion aside, the Microsoft
induced inability to protect the clipboard is what disturbs me the most.

SpyShelter is a superb and highly efficacious element in a layered
anti-threat scheme no matter what associated element run in parallel
with it.

As a beta tester, I’m looking forward to find out what’s in store for the future. Hang in there, Carl!

Did you know by default Microsoft sends your clipboard to the cloud? Kind of scary, isn’t it?

https://www.thewindowsclub.com/enable-disable-windows-10-clipboard-sync-across-devices

Scary is just the half of it.

Note that the “Sync across devices” setting is active if one is currently logged into ones MS account. Otherwise, when using a local account, that UI area is “greyed out.”

For those who use it, this is what should be changed in Firefox (and Thunderbird) via the about:config editor:

dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled Set it to false.

Savvy users can query AI for instructions to create a policy in Firefox where “DisableTelemetry”: true can be enabled. I throw in “DisableAppUpdate": true to allow me to update when I want to.

Drop in on my May, 2025 post for what gives me some level of comfort using MS’s clipboard monstrosity:
