How to remove a partial uninstall of SpyShelter

i had spyshelter installed under Admin ( wins 11), then try to install under a local account, which failed. It seems I only was able to partial uninstall spyshelter, so now I cannt either install or uninstall. While in safe mode I reviewed the files, but there was no ‘sps_service.exe’ , hence the emergency uninstall instruction have not worked.
Any suggestions. Thanks

Sorry for the issue. Did you use a third party uninstaller like Revo by chance? This can sometimes cause this issue because sometimes that type of software doesn’t realize we have a driver, so the uninstall will fail.

For any other SpyShelter users reading this our emergency uninstall instructions are here Uninstall SpyShelter – SpyShelter Help but you said this would not help you.

To begin helping you, can you tell me what error you see when you try to install? Normally I’d suggest doing this:

  1. Reboot - IMPORTANT
  2. Download our latest version from spyshelter.com and install it.
  3. Reboot - IMPORTANT
  4. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall SpyShelter

OK good thanks. I was so focused on uninstalling and reinstalling I didnt reboot, silly. So I’m able to load a new copy and it’s running, which I have under my local account. Is it possible to access that copy under my Admin account, I seem to recall only one copy is possible on a PC. I realize this may be more of a Wins admin question.

Once you install SpyShelter it should appear system wide. You should be able to use it from the admin or other user. If you do a Search does it not show up with the admin account? If so, just launch SpyShelter.

I posted incorrect info before I just edited/fixed this post, sorry about that.

Just checking in to confirm the issue was resolved? Thanks!
